Join our FPC Matawan Walk Teams, including the Youth Group, on Sunday, October 18, at 2:00 p.m. for the 45th annual Red Bank CROP Hunger Walk. The walk begins at Red Bank Regional High School and follows the traditional 5-mile route through the Red Bank area. You can also support the cause by sponsoring an Adult or Youth walker. Our CROP Walk team is consistently one of the top teams in the region, and we greatly appreciate your support!
The funds raised will help end hunger and poverty in the U.S. and around the world. Locally, our Matawan Community Food Pantry—one of 14 partner pantries—will receive a portion of both the monetary donations and food collected. Each year, 25% of all contributions stay local, while the remaining 75% goes to Church World Service (CWS) to support worldwide hunger relief and self-development mission efforts.
Last year’s Red Bank CROP Hunger Walk raised $143,000 and collected more than 15,000 lbs. of food, supported by a total of 400 participants. Last year, our church raised over $3,265. Our Matawan Community Food Pantry benefited from $2,329 and a carload of food.
