Mission Statement
The Mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan is to be the body of Christ and to glorify God. The Church nurtures its members in faith and service and spreads the good news of God’s salvation to all people.
We extend Christian love, worship, fellowship, education, and other support to meet the changing needs of our community.
To these ends, we will reach out as a congregation by:

- Exemplifying God’s love
- Seeking justice for all
What We Believe
The First Presbyterian Church of Matawan is a reformed faith community of the PC(USA), that believes the Word of God as revealed through scripture, prayer and corporate worship.
Diversity
Our members come from 20 countries and six continents. They each bring the richness of their culture and traditions, as well as differing experiences. We celebrate that diversity each year with an International Dinner.
History of First Presbyterian Church
The history of the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan can be traced back over 300 years. 
The Church has survived and thrived during both good times and bad. Our lay leaders have exhibited strength, leadership and caring towards the Church, the congregation and the community. Earlier this year, we welcomed our new pastor, Rev. Natalie Bell.
